Celebrity Graduations

I thought about discussing how to choose a major in your higher education. But since the mood of the festive season is on, I don't feel like writing about serious matter. Hehe... While surfing the youtube I found British Royal Prince Harry's Graduation Day video . He did his graduation from the prestigious Royal Millitary Academy of Sandhurst in Britain in 2006.

Studies on Halloween

I still remember how I hated to study just before the Halloween. While mom used to remind me of the mid-terms, I was more busy planning for my costumes and tricks that could be played on my friends. Now, it's the role reversal for me. When I see the younger ones of my family not studying, I advice them to study hard for the mid-terms!
Sometimes, I find it so funny. But now I realize that my mom was absolutely right. There should be a balancing act between doing celebrations and studying. After all, our academics will decide our future.

Graduation Song 'Again' by Lenny Kravitz's

I found this song in Youtube by Lenny Kravitz's .I loved it . Enjoy!

Here are the lyrics
I've been searching for you
I heard a cry within my soul
I've never had a yearning quite like this before
Now that you are walking right through my door

All of my life
Where have you been?
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
And if that day comes
I know we could win
I wonder if I'll ever see you again

A sacred gift of heaven
For better, worse, wherever
And I would never let somebody break you down
Nor take your crown, never

All of my life
Where have you been?
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
And if that day comes
I know we could win
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
And everytime I've always known
That you were there, upon your throne
A lonely queen without her king
I longed for you, my love forever

All of my life
Where have you been?
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
And if that day comes
I know we could win
I wonder if I'll ever see you again

All of my life
Where have you been?
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
And if that day comes
I know we could win
I wonder if I'll ever see you again

All of my life
Where have you been?
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
And if that day comes
I know we could win
I wonder if I'll ever see you again

I wonder if I'll ever see you again
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
I wonder if I'll ever see you again

I wonder if I'll ever see you again
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
I wonder if I'll ever see you again

Importance of Studies

Aristotle, the famous philosopher has said that,”The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet.
So true. We often have to make our choices; whether we want a successful future or a fun-filled present day. Going for higher studies is not an easy choice. For academics, one has to spend days and nights among piles of books; one has to deprive oneself from the fun that their peers are enjoying. Books, computers and projects replace the friends and other fun of life. But as the saying goes “To get something, one has to lose something”; in order to have a secured future, there is no option but to study well.

Specially in the present day scenario, education has become utmost important. With the problem of unemployment looming large, earning money is directly proportional to the number of degrees you have. So if you are thinking not to go for graduation think it twice.

Graduation Song: You Raise Me Up - Josh Gorban Version

I think Josh Gorban is one of the best young soloists. I love his voice. He's added a new level or depth to "You Raise Me Up". Just watch this music video - probably one of the best graduation songs that's going to become a classic.

How to Plan for Graduation at the Begining of the School Year

There's not a better time to think about Graduation than the time when you're going back to school or starting out in college. It is the most exciting time of the year and you can plan so many things -- including your graduation ahead of time. Eastern Oregon University has a check list for most majors. Ask around if your college or university has a checklist for graduation. The best places to ask are at the registrar's office and your department's office. Most likely they will have it if they don't have that you can make one yourself.

Here's a couple of questions to get you started on making your own graduation check list:

  • What is the minimum credit hours required overall?
  • What is the GPA required overall?
  • What is the minimum credit hours required for course work?
  • Are there any university/college writing requirements? What are they? (They can be tests, exams, term papers etc.)
  • What are the required courses for your specific major?
  • Are there any minor courses you're taking? What are they and what are their requirements?
  • What are your major's elective courses? Which ones are you taking?
  • Are there any other major/minor requirements for your degree? Write them down.
  • Are there any other program (BS/BA) requirements?
  • Check if you're qualified for honors. (You can even plan this ahead and make sure you qualify.)
  • Calculate your credit hours and/or mark them as DONE at the end of each semester.
  • When should you file for graduation? What's the deadline? Check in with your registrar.
Once you're done check in with a professor from your department or the best would be to check in with the head of department. They can tell you what you're missing.

Checklists are great when you can do them at the start of your college because you can set your goals and objectives. By the end of each semester or trimester you can check in on which courses you've completed and which courses you still need to do. This way you're geared towards your next enrollment and won't be stressed out with which course to choose. You can even be ahead of the crowd and get into the class you really want.

Have a great time back in school!
