Are you preparing for your graduation speech or commencement speech? If you need help in writing your graduation speech and are looking for tips to write your graduation speech, then read on.
- Recollect old memories of your college or school life and all the nice time spent together with your fellow grads and teachers.
- Tell a lot stories and funny incidents that will be there with your forever.
- Talk about major activities that your class did together. For example, if there was charity work, a play, a concert, the prom or anything similar.
- Include a discussion on values that are important to the students and the audience. For example in a Christian Institute, you might talk about God and if it’s a liberal arts Institute then talk about Art. Your content should engage the audience.
- Include everyone. Be it the fellow graduates you loved the most, be it the ones you hated or fought with, or the teachers that you couldn’t stand or the teachers whom looked upto as idols, mention all of them.
- Thank everyone, including the teachers, to your fellow graduates, and definitely your parents.
- Don’t go on talking about yourself forever.
- Don’t speak ill about anyone. Be cautious to only narrate the sweet memories, not the bad ones.
- Avoid clichés like “new chapter of life”, “spread your wings and fly” and others.
